Gluten Free Nutritionist

Why Work With a Gluten-Free Nutritionist?

Navigating a gluten-free lifestyle can feel overwhelming — from reading food labels to making sure you're still getting the right balance of nutrients. That’s where working with a qualified gluten-free nutritionist can make all the difference.

Helping You Avoid Nutritional Gaps:

Gluten-free doesn’t always mean healthy. Without the right guidance, it's easy to miss out on important nutrients like fibre, iron, calcium, B vitamins, and omega-3s. I will help you build a balanced, nourishing gluten-free plan that is designed to support your health at the root, not just cover up symptoms.

You Get Personalised Support:

No two bodies are the same. Whether you're dealing with bloating, fatigue, hormonal imbalances or inflammation, I tailor your nutrition plan to your unique symptoms, goals, and lifestyle — not just a one-size-fits-all template.

A Focus on Your Digestive Health:

Ever heard the phrase “your gut is your second brain”? It’s true.
Your gut and brain are deeply connected - what happens in your digestive system can influence everything from your mood and energy to your focus and immune health. Many people choose gluten-free for gut-related symptoms like IBS, diarrhoea, or discomfort. As a gut health-focused nutritionist, I look at the full picture — food, stress, hormones, and more. I want to help you feel you again, not just symptom free.

Gain Confidence in Food Choices

Gluten hides in unexpected places. I’ll teach you how to read labels with confidence, plan meals with ease, and enjoy a variety of naturally gluten-free foods that nourish and satisfy, without relying on ultra-processed gluten-free products.

Learn How to Make Long-Term Sustainable Change:

This isn’t about cutting out food and hoping for the best. It's about building habits that support energy, digestion, mood and immune function - so you can feel your best everyday and not just every now and then.

We’ll explore what life could look like when you’re confidently navigating a gluten-free, anti-inflammatory lifestyle—imagine feeling energised, symptom-free, and fully in control of your health.

The Ultimate Goal

The Roadblocks

Together, we’ll explore the root of your discomfort, identify what’s not working for you, and understand how these issues may have started to feel like your “normal”.

The Plan

And finally, we’ll put together a personalised plan to help ease your struggles or symptoms — so you can go from feeling frustrated and overwhelmed to confident, in control, and symptom free.

As a Qualified Nutritionist, with over 10 years of experience in Coeliac Disease and the Gluten Free lifestyle, I’m no stranger to the symptoms of being ‘glutened’ and the frustrating changes you are required to make when living with a restrictive diet.

Whilst navigating a Gluten Free Diet, the first 6-12 months can be the most challenging. The relapses (definitely in my case) that precede it, changing places that you once loved to eat, how and where you shop and reading EVERY label on EVERY food product, to name a few.

And then new unwanted symptoms rear their head after going gluten free - they’re fun right? An unbalanced Gut Microbiome or Gut Dysbiosis (leaky gut) sneaks in, potentially leading to other intolerances and nutritional deficiencies.

Having Coeliac Disease is what deeply connects me to my clients, I understand the complexities of how restrictive eating can impact your life both physically, mentally and emotionally.

The impact is real, however, what if living this lifestyle is actually a positive? With a lot of foods that contain gluten being heavily processed - is it such a bad thing?

What is The Gluten Free Diet

A Gluten Free diet involves eliminating all foods that contain gluten - a protein found in wheat, barley, and rye. For individuals with coeliac disease, or non-coeliac gluten sensitivity, removing gluten is essential for reducing symptoms, healing the gut, and preventing long-term health issues.

Coeliac disease affects around 1 in 100 people, but it's not the only reason someone might need to avoid gluten. Conditions like non-coeliac gluten sensitivity and other gluten-related disorders also require a gluten-free diet. It's estimated that at least 10% of people in the UK are following a gluten-free lifestyle—for medical or personal health reasons. The Gluten Free food industry is continually growing and worth an estimated £835 million per year.

Going Gluten Free isn't just about cutting out bread and pasta. It’s about learning to read labels, understand food sources, and balance your plate to avoid nutritional deficiencies that can arise from restrictive eating.

The term "gluten free" is protected under European Regulation (EU) No 828/2014, which is also upheld in UK law. To legally use this label on food products, the gluten content must be 20 parts per million (ppm) or less. Additionally, it's a legal requirement for food manufacturers to clearly label any of the 14 major allergens—including gluten-containing grains like wheat, barley, rye, and oats—when they are used as bulking ingredients.

I believe that taking a whole food approach is the most effective and nourishing way to follow a gluten free diet. By focusing on minimally processed foods and avoiding synthetic ingredients, you give your body the best chance to heal and thrive.

Testimonials

I started with Lorraine as someone who had some sense of knowledge around nutrition but was seeking more of a deep understanding of food and what it does to our bodies, not only for me but my toddler too. Lorraine worked hard putting together nutritional recommendations for myself and my toddler, personal to us based on our food and drink consumption and lifestyle. My main target issues were bloating and inflammation of my skin, I considered my diet fairly clean but knew that I must have been going wrong somewhere. Lorraine created a safe, judgement free space around the discussion of these issues and it was really refreshing to speak with someone who very clearly shows passion for what they do.

The information provided to me will stick with me and my toddler as we grow. I can now confidently say that have a deeper understanding of the foods that cause me issues and those that I consider safe, my skin is a huge reflection of this. The recipes provided by Lorraine are delicious too which is an obvious added bonus.

I highly recommend Lorraine to anyone who wishes to take the leap in making healthy life changes, you will not regret it. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with me.

My experience has been life-changing. I’ve struggled with IBS for years, trying countless diets, medications, and advice with little success. Rain approached my situation with compassion, patience, and a deep understanding of how IBS impacts daily life. Through our sessions, I finally felt heard and more importantly, I began to see real progress. My symptoms have significantly decreased, and I feel more in control of my body than I have in years. I can’t thank Rain enough for her guidance and support.

I had an amazing experience working with Lorraine. Her personalised approach, deep knowledge, and genuine care made all the difference in my health issues regarding PCOS. She took the time to understand my goals, lifestyle, and dietary needs, creating a plan that was both effective and sustainable.

Not only did I see real results such as more energy, better digestion, and improved overall wellbeing but I also gained a much better understanding of nutrition and how to make healthier choices that support my condition. Her guidance was practical, supportive, and always encouraging.
